A Life of Expectancy

Day 47
Thought for the day: Best Day Of My Life
Listening to: “To wish was to hope, and to hope was to expect” ― Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility

My dear friend Rick and I had a long discussion about expectations last night………. no not what you’re thinking. He had recently listened to a sermon about the need to live in a constant state of expectancy no matter how long it takes to achieve your goals/dreams. We then took turns sharing recent experiences where we had been blessed because of high expectations. It was a feel-good conversation and I left with a positive attitude. When I logged on to Facebook this morning, the first status update I saw from one of my friends was, “Expectation equals disappointment.” I thought to myself, “Yeah this is more in line with my thinking.” It wiped out my positive attitude from last night (y’all don’t realize how much you impact me via social media). Later in the day I set out in the sun for a 4 mile walk. Driveway after driveway, I saw this advertisement. Sure it is a store’s slogan, but it screamed at me and hurtled me back into the positive zone. So, for now, I’m back to living a life of expectancy. It’ll probably take another 30 years before I’m married to Liam Neeson, have a fireplace, a daily supply of Tootsie Rolls, and a million bucks in the ole bank account, but so be it. Y’all with me?
